A well-organized, functional bookshelf doesn't have
to look boring. First, be sure there’s enough space
between shelves to make fetching and returning
books easy. Shelve a category or two of books
horizontally—you’ll fit extra-large volumes on the
shelf, plus the stacks make nice pedestals for
displaying accessories. Work in visual interest with
unique bookends, decorative objects, and framed
artwork tucked between the books. And finally,
have a little fun with labels. Try Scrabble tiles,

attached with removable mounting tape.
